Deaf Awareness Week 3rd-9th May 2021

May 4, 2021

In the UK, 1 in 5 adults are deaf or have hearing loss, and 1 in 8 have tinnitus (hearing noises that are not caused by sounds coming from the outside world, such as ringing or buzzing).

Deaf Awareness Week aims to raise awareness and challenge perceptions of hearing loss and deafness across the UK.

Deaf awareness week is all about promoting the positive aspects of living with deafness.

This aims to raise awareness of the isolation that deaf people can sometimes experience, and promote the importance of social inclusion.
