NHS Innovation Accelerator Patient and Public Voices Partners needed.
The roles available are one member on the NIA Programme Board, which oversees the strategic direction of the NIA programme, and one member on the NIA Operational Group, which oversees and advises on the delivery of the strategy. You will be one of two PPVPs on either of these groups. We welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds and underrepresented groups.
Title: Patient and Public Voices Partner (PPVP)
The post holder will have knowledge of the health (and social, although not essential) care sector, and preferably been previously involved in patient and public engagement activities at a local or national level. Candidates should have experience of advocating for the involvement and engagement of patients and members of the public in health and social care, and be an effective communicator who is proactive and efficient at working with a wide range of individuals and organisations.
Length of commitment: For 3 years from commencement of role
Time commitment: Meetings are held every three months, with Operational Group held 3 weeks in advance of the Programme Board.
Dates for the Programme Board are as below:
• Tuesday 7 May – 13:00 – 15:00
• Monday 8 July – 14:00 – 16:00
• Thursday 17 October – 11:00 – 13:00
• Monday 9 December – 14:00 – 16:00
• January / February 2025 tbc
Dates for the Operation Group are to be confirmed but are likely to be:
• 1st or 2nd week of June
• Last week of September / first week of October
• Mid November
You will be required to read papers in advance of meetings. The NIA team is always available to answer queries on the papers. Papers are provided in PDF format via email; paper copies can be posted upon request, formatted in a reasonably adjusted style that the PPVPs would find helpful. The PPVPs will have the opportunity upon appointment (and at any other time they deem necessary) to discuss with the NIA Team any adjustments needed to support their preparation for and participation in the meetings.
Venue:
Pre-COVID, these meetings were held at UCLPartners, 170 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 7HA. Since the pandemic, all meetings have been undertaken virtually using Zoom and are expected to continue to be held virtually.
