Care Day 2023

Friday 17 February is Care Day – the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with care experience. The day was set up to share and celebrate the voices of young people in care and care experienced people.

Some young people have good experiences of the care system, but they are too few. ‘Care’ should provide the opportunity to take a breath in a safe environment. But many tell Become they enter care feeling overwhelmed and isolated, only to be let down by the system that should look after them.

Become have been leading the Care Day campaign in England since the event first began in 2015. 2023's theme is #KnowAboutCare

Follow what I want you to #KnowAboutCare to find out what children in care and care experienced people really experience and want you to know.

Become charity aims to challenge common misconceptions about care and tackle the stigma and prejudice that care-experienced young people face by amplifying the views and voices of young people themselves.
