Warrington and Halton Quality Priorities for 2023-2024.

Each year all NHS trusts and foundation trusts publish a Quality Account detailing information relating to quality, performance and improvements that have been undertaken during the preceding year.
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals (WHH) would now like to have your views on their Quality Priorities for 2023/2024.

Statement from WHH:

In 2022/23, Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals (WHH) achieved a great deal despite continued operational challenges through teamwork and great dedication. This included work concerning nutrition and hydration, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, greater access to services and further development of the ‘Getting It Right First Time’ Clinical Productivity Programme across all specialties.

WHH has also continued to further develop the research portfolio working in partnership with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Clinical Research Network, creating opportunities for both staff and members of the public wishing to access trials, ultimately influencing care for the future. The introduction of Halton Health Hub at Shopping City in Runcorn has been a success in enabling patients to access services closer to home in a calm environment and we have continued to manage waiting lists in accordance with clinical prioritisation.

Plans have been developed for the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework in 2023-24 which will change the way in which incidents are managed, creating richer learning and optimising efficiency for both staff and patients. These are just a few examples of what we achieved last year.

Looking forward to 2023-24 we need to consider where our focus needs to be to continue to build upon the work undertaken so far in continually improving the care of our patients. This will continue to focus upon the three domains of quality:

(1)  Patient Safety
(2)  Clinical Effectiveness
(3)  Patient Experience

In order to do this, it is important that all staff, patients, advocates and wider stakeholders have a voice in shaping our services for the future. As such, I would be grateful if you could take the time to complete the short survey via the link below to tell us what quality means to you. What does this look like? Where should our focus be?

(Please also note that the question about care group is primarily aimed at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals staff and you can complete the survey without answering this question.)

The link will remain live until 22 January 2023.
