Over 50's invited to boost their immunity, with free COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations available.

People aged 50 and over have started receiving COVID autumn booster and flu jabs, from Saturday 15 October, after the NHS expanded the vaccination offer to all over 50s.

The rollout means around 12 million more people are eligible for their autumn booster dose.

A seasonal COVID-19 booster (autumn booster) can be booked online for anyone who is:

  • aged 50 or over
  • pregnant
  • aged 5 and over and at high risk due to a health condition
  • aged 5 and over and at high risk because of a weakened immune system
  • aged 16 and over and lives with someone who has a weakened immune system
  • aged 16 and over and is a carer, either paid or unpaid
  • a frontline health and social care worker

The appointment dates you'll be offered will start from 3 months (91 days) after your previous dose.

People aged 50 and over

If you're aged 50 years old or over, you can book a free flu vaccine online.

People aged 18 to 49

If you're aged 18 to 49 years old, you can book a free flu vaccine online if you:

  • have a serious long-term health condition
  • are pregnant
  • are in long-stay residential care
  • receive a carer's allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if you get sick
  • live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection (such as someone who has HIV, has had a transplant, or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)
  • are a social care worker (if you cannot get a flu vaccine through your employer)
