Dementia Advisor Service is here to support people in Halton.

The Alzheimer’s Society provides post diagnostic support to people with a diagnosis of dementia and their families in both Halton and Warrington. Their Dementia Adviser Service offers a personalised one-to-one service, providing information, signposting and support to anyone affected by dementia.

The team can see you at home, or provide support by post, over the phone, email or in the community.

Help is available with issues such as:

  • Understanding a diagnosis of dementia
  • Legal matters including Lasting Power of Attorney
  • Managing your money and benefits
  • Living well with dementia and keeping active
  • Support with everyday tasks and getting further help

Activity Groups also take place in both Runcorn and Widnes. They are based around a variety of engaging activities such as quizzes, singing and reminiscence. There are also opportunities
to find out about what’s happening in your area and get support from an adviser. The sessions are also a chance to relax and socialise. Activity groups are for people living with dementia, and carers or companions are welcome to attend. Refreshments are provided.
