Volunteer Peer Supporter/Listening Ears needed for

Trinity Safe Space are looking for dedicated volunteers who can give up to 2 hours a week, for 6 months to support asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants in the Borough of Halton.
  • Do you have good listening and communication skills?
  • Do you have an interest in and empathy with asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants?
  • Can you provide non-judgemental support and encouragement to people?

As a Peer Supporter/Listening Ear you will befriend one of the client group, to offer support, plan activities and enable access to appropriate events, to reduce their social isolation and improve their mental health and wellbeing. There is a budget to enable them to participate.                                   

This is a flexible role which enables you to meet at mutually convenient times and in agreed places with a view to enabling them to feel more included in their community.

You can help an asylum seeker, refugee or vulnerable migrant to feel less isolated, more included and more involved in positive activities, by providing friendship, conversation, a listening ear and access to activities and events, thereby improving their mental health and wellbeing.
