Widnes NHS Urgent Care Centre
I called the Urgent Care Centre at 8am and got straight through on the phone. A few details were taken and a nurse called me back about half an hour later. Se talked through what why I needed an appointment and booked me n for 1pm that day. She said I could of come in earlier but they did not have a prescriber working until the afternoon, so would only be able to give a standard anti biotic if needed for treatment.
A 1pm arrived. Most of the seats were taped off to ensure social distancing and a screen was up at reception. I was seen at 1.30pm. I went straight in as I had done triage over the phone. The staff member was very apologetic for my wait and explained they were cleaning between each patient. The wait wasn't actually long at all and I could see the room had just been cleaned. He was wearing a mask and checked my symptoms. He was very friendly and caring.
