been a patient for 40 years excellent service

I have been a patient at Castlefields Health Centre for 40 years it is excellent I can phone the surgery and get appointment the same day . The Centre is clean the staff are brilliant and very approachable they make referrals when we need them to other services and specialists as my husband is a Diabetic

Difficulty to obtain repeat prescription

Given pain relief and other tablets. Tried to order repeat prescription informed only after I contacted surgery these were short term medication until I had phone consultation with MSK. Hadn't had that, required tablets took almost 4 days to sort problem out.

SPEED AND EFFICIENCY

After a Long Overdue Need for a Haircut, I noticed an Unusual Coloured Mole on my Temple. I 'phoned The Health Centre at Castlefields, and explained what I saw on my Head, and was requested to send Two Pictures of The Mole. The Next Day I was urgently referred to The Hospital, and I have an Appointment Date. The Speed and Efficiency was Totally Unexpected. very caring and proffessional

I have a number of health conditions and have to have regular blood tests because of the medication I am on, I was offered a home visit by the nurse, Fiona, via telephone to take my bloods. The nurse came to my home and I sat in the hall by my front door the nurse had the correct PPE on she wore a visor and gloves, she was lovely, caring, and very professional. I am very grateful for the care I receive from the surgery .

Phlebotomy Nurse very helpful

I have to have my blood levels checked as I am prescribed Methotrexate to help with my Arthritis. The phlebotomy nurse is really approachable and very personable, she is so good at what she does. She is helpful and very thorough.

Surgery is very vigilant

I have to attend the surgery because I have lots of health conditions I have to have regular routine bloodtests, when I went to my appointment I was met by a member of staff and had to have my temperature taken and asked if I had a cough and gave me wipes to wipe my hands before I went into the clinic. I think that is really good to try and stop the virus spreading and very proactive

waiting three weeks for appointments

Having to wait three weeks for a GP appointment is frustrating there are not enough GP's in the surgery this all started a few years ago when they closes another GP surgery down and dispersed the patients and now we cannot get appointments . It needs to be improved by providing more GPs to meet the demand it is ridiculous.

Diabetic Nurse is lovely

I attend the surgery regarding my diabetes as I have been diabetic for a number of years. The nurse is really good. She takes her time and listens to me. I am finally getting my diabetes under control thanks to her advice and her caring approach.

Listened to me

I had been going the GP surgery for a while as I have a number of health conditions related to my heart and diabetes I did not feel I was being listened too or my concerns were taken seriously . However, both GPs I have seen recently have been brilliant. They sat and listened to my concerns on separate appointments. I have now been referred to hospital for an endoscopy and a scan of my head.

Hanging on the telephone

I'm the PA for an elderly lady and I tried ringing the practice to book an appointment for her. When I rang the phone message said I was number 11 in the queue. I hung on for 45 minutes until I was number 2 in the queue. Then it said there was a problem with their phone system and I got cut off.
It is a fairly regular occurance that I'm waiting on the phone for a long while to speak with the practice.
I often have to ring NHS 111 instead.
