Patient Safety Partners (PSPs) needed for the National Patient Safety team

NHSE&I is recruiting Patient Safety Partners who are committed to supporting the planning and delivery of national patient safety objectives.
These individuals would work with the team as ‘Patient Safety Partners’ (PSPs) to provide a different perspective on patient safety as laypeople, service users and patients. The PSPs will act as ‘knowledge brokers’, bringing insight and experiences to help inform policy development and the national patient safety agenda.
As a PSP, the role in the National Patient Safety Team may include:
Membership of panels with an advisory role in delivering the National Patient Safety Agenda
Membership of multi-professional committees, giving oversight and direction to the National Patient Safety Agenda
Working in groups tasked with developing National Patient Safety Programmes
Contributing key perspectives as a layperson, service user or patient to the development and implementation of the work
Supporting the National Patient Safety Team to make decisions that take into account the diverse needs and experiences of the public
Involvement in interview panels for patient safety-related recruitment
Expenses and involvement payments will be made to PSPs dependent on the level of involvement activity in accordance with NHS England & NHS Improvement policy on involvement payments.
