Loan sharks reporting app launched

A new Stop Loan Sharks reporting app will be launched today, Wednesday, September 23. You can download for free on the App Store and Google Play at: http://m.appbuild.io/g50e3

The app is mainly aimed at frontline professionals and provides useful information on how to recognise the signs of illegal money lending, respond to disclosures and where to refer clients to for specialist support.

Not sure what a loan shark is?

If you or someone you know / support can answer yes to one or more of these questions you might be borrowing from a loan shark:

  • Did they offer you a cash loan?
  • Did they not give you paperwork?
  • Did they add huge amounts of interest or APR to your loan?
  • Have they threatened you?
  • Are you scared of people finding out?
  • Have they taken your bank card, benefits card, passport, watch or other valuables from you?

Being involved with a loan shark can have a negative impact on a persons whole life including their family, work and health. Money worries and being desperate for cash can become the only thing they think about. Stop Loan Sharks will help stop a loan shark and get access to local support going forward.

Anyone who is concerned that you or someone you know may be the victim of a loan shark, please call the 24 hour helpline on 0300 555 2222, a live Chat service is also available 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri at: https://www.stoploansharks.co.uk/we-can-help/
