Access to non NHS MS services in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool and South Sefton

June 16, 2022

It is estimated that at least 1,788 people live with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) across Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley and South Sefton.

When you include those ‘affected’ by MS,  partners, family members and carers the number is significantly higher. Though people should have regular appointments with their MS or Neuro nurse and sometimes contact with Occupational or Physiotherapists, people with MS can benefit from other support too. Research shows us that exercise activity, complementary therapies, emotional support and specialist advice on employment and benefits can also have an impact on health and wellbeing.

The MS Society are trying to get an overview of what informal and local services people affected by MS in Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley and South Sefton are using and if there are gaps. If you are affected in any way by MS they would be grateful if you could complete this survey. It will help the MS Society get a better understanding of what services are being used and what others might be needed.

The MS Society will also be holding a conference for people affected by MS and organisations who provide services across the area in September to find out what you told them and have the opportunity to talk directly to service providers about what you many need.  There is a section in the survey where you can let them know if you would like to know more about this.
