HAB Chair
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1981 and worked in both Acute and Community Services during my career. I then moved from Clinical Nursing and worked for The Royal College of Nursing in a management position. I retired in 2015 and have since been involved as a Volunteer with local Health Services and was also on the Lord Chancellors Advisory Committee to the Magistracy. I then took up my Role at Healthwatch Halton as Chair of the Health Advisory Board in 2019.

I am also involved in various social/volunteering initiatives in work namely Code For Future, Digital Inclusion and also part of the Race and Equality(REN) committee and hold several sessions for these initiatives in work.I have also done a lot of work at orphanages in Mumbai,India.
Healthwatch Halton is my first experience outside of work in the UK.
I am glad to be a part of and be associated with Healthwatch Halton, which will help me do exactly what I wanted to do – give back to society.

I started to volunteer with Healthwatch Halton in October 2017 because I felt the organisation shared my belief in ensuring the concerns of the people in the local community regarding health and social care issues are brought to the attention of the key decision makers. I have been involved in Outreach activities, and the Enter and View programme which have proved crucial in gathering evidence-based feedback to underpin recommendations for improvement. In 2019 I joined the Advisory Board as I felt the governance experience I built up during my business career would add value and aid Healthwath Halton in realising its objectives.
